'Sheikh Hasina's Homecoming Day' Observed in Dhaka
Dhaka, 16 May (Special Correspondent/OurVoice) – A seminar on 'Sheikh Hasina’s 44th Homecoming Day' was held in Dhaka on Thursday.
Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum (PCF) organised the seminar at National Press Club in the afternoon.
Presided over by Progressive Columnist Forum President also former Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Professor M Mizanur Rahman, Textile and Jute Minister Jahangir Kabir Nanok addressed the programme as chief guest while Islamic University's former Vice-Chancellor also Progressive Columnist Forum's Vice-President Professor Dr Rashid Askari delivered speech as welcome speaker.
PCF General Secretary and JnU Bangla Department Chairman Professor Milton Biswas spoke as the key-note speaker, while National University VC Professor M Mashiur Rahman, Barishal University VC Professor M Badruzzaman Bhuiyan and Dainik Bangla and News 24 Executive Director Afizur Rahman spoke as special guests.
Addressing the programme, Dr Rashid Askari said, 'Sheikh Hasina’s homecoming is not only the return of a person but also the return of the spirit of liberation war. She is a great visionary leader and she transformed Bangladesh from the “basket case“ to smart country,' he added.
Around two hundred intellectuals, educationists, academician and scholars took part in the seminar.
