IU teacher leaves for Malaysia to attend int'l conference
Kushtia, December 02 (Correspondent/OurVoice) – Dr Syed Maksudur Rahman, a Professor of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies department of Islamic University in Kushtia, left Dhaka for Malaysia on Monday to take part in an international conference.
He will participate in a three-day third international conference on 'Quran and Sunnah Studies' organised by International Islamic University Malaysia, an IU academic section official said on Sunday.
He, after the conference in Malaysia, will join a discussion scheduled to be held at VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam on December 10.
The Center for Contemporary Religious Studies organises the discussion programme on 'the challenges and opportunities of research on Islam in the Indian Subcontinent'.
He would address the programme as the chief guest, the official said.
Earlier, Mindanao State University - Marawi and International Council of Islamic Finance Educators jointly organised the 12th ASEAN Universities International Conference on Islamic Finance in Philippines.
Dr Syed Maksudur Rahman submitted a research article on 'Zakat Management for Socio-Financial Development and Addressing Potential Challenges: A Theoretical Analysis' in the conference.
