Expert Meeting on Info Rights for Migrant Workers Held in Malaga
Malaga, April 13 (Special Correspondent/OV): The Experts Working Meeting of the groundbreaking project "Making information the basis for strengthened and increased working rights in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors within the context of intra-EU posting of workers (INFO-RIGHTS)" took place in Malaga, Spain on April 11th and 12th. The project is fundedn by the European Union.
The objective of the project is to make information the cornerstone of strengthened working rights within the EU's intra-posting framework. The project components included conducting face-to-face experts consultation, developing an informative portal, creating specific case studies and engaging video blogs and building a chatbot to assist with inquiries.
The sessions included the briefing on EU legislation from the intricacies of EU legislation concerning the posting of workers, particularly in the context of freedom to provide services. The focus was on temporary work agencies facilitating cross-border employment in agriculture and manufacturing.
In the session on identifying information needs, experts discussed the specific needs for information in the partner countries and brainstormed ideas for website content, video clips, and infographics to effectively disseminate crucial information among the stakeholders.
The session on the methodology for online meetings, representatives shared a draft methodology for conducting online meetings and allocated tasks to ensure efficient collaboration for moving forward. The consultation took significant strides toward enhancing working rights and promoting transparency across borders in Europe.
A total of 22 representatives from the research and policy level organisations and institutions including FIEQUIMITAL from Portugal, ELMI, ZZPR and OKAP from Poland, SOLIDARITET from Norway, LSI from Netherlands, ACLM and FAB from Spain, INTER COLLEGE from Denmark and Life Learning Development e.V. (LLD) from Germany took part in the meeting. The meeting was held in the conference room of Hotel Pez Espada in Torremolinos in Malaga.
The sessions were facilitated, among others, by Marek Benio, Marcin Kielbasa, Grzegorz Wysocki, Jolanta Wysocka and Aleksandra Idzikowska from Poland and Jose Eduardo Valderrama Aguado, Angel Luis Lozano Hidalgo, Javier Rodriguez Schefle, Laura Heute Ruiz, Javier Redondo Soria, Grazyna Spytek Bandurska and Natalia Mena Matinez from Spain. Among others, Renee Scott Avellaneda, Mario Matos, Rogerio Silva and Pedro Lynce from Portugal, Natasha Shrestha and Dr Abdul Hai from Germany, Arthur Kubik and Joanna Koscielna from Norway and Suzanne Hoff and Joanna Adriana De Volder from the Netherlands took part in the expert consultation in Malaga.
