‘Hasina to be brought back to the country and put on trial‘

Kushtia, January 18 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice) – Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser, said that the main responsibility of the interim government was to bring back the ousted government Sheikh Hasina from India in order to put her on trial for alleged mass killings during the student-led protests in July and August.
'If the people are united, she will be brought to book the way she put on trial the killers of her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman‘, he said.
He came up with the statements while addressing a seminar as the chief discussant, held at Birshrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of Islamic University in Kushtia on Saturday. 
Islamic University Journalists' Association and the university administration jointly organised the seminar on the aspirations of July Revolution and media on the campus.
He further said that they were going to reform the mass media because autocratic Sheikh Hasina's government misused it over the last 15 years.
He also emphasised on the importance of upholding the dignity of journalists.
Presided over by Islamic University's communication and multimedia journalism department head Professor M Rashiduzzaman, IU vice-chancellor Professor Nakib Mohammad Nasrullah spoke here as the chief guest while pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Yaqub Ali spoke as special guest.
IUJA general secretary Tajmul Jaeem conducted the seminar, while its former member and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha's special correspondent S M Rashidul Islam delivered speech as discussant.
Around one thousand teachers and students of different departments took part in the seminar.
