Training on Up-Skilling VET Sector to Cloud Computing Held in Spoleto
Spoleto, March 02 (Special Correspondent/OV): A 6-day training course on Up-Skilling the VET Sector to Cloud Computing was held in Spoleto, the historical city of Italy, from Febraury 26 to March 2.
A total of 34 representatives from the transnational project consortium on Skills Cloud actively took part in the training course and field visits in Spoleto and Foligno in Italy. The training courses and field visits were held in Umbria Training Center in Spoleto and IPIA Orfini VET School in Foligno.
Speakers presented pragmatic lessons and learning on Cloud Computing for Education, Good Cloud Computing in Vocational Education and Training, Cloud-Based Collaborative Tools for Education and Content Creation, Skills Cloud e-learning Platform and Learning Videos, Cloud Security in Education, Cloud –Based Assessment and Evaluation and Cloud Storage Solutions.
Stakeholders on cloud computing, vocational training and education and cloud security from Germany, Greece, Italy, Turkey and Ireland attended the sessions and analysed various perspectives of quality management, sustainability of the project outcomes, e-learning platform and educational materials developed under this project for multipliers, vocational trainer and educators and students and professionals.
Project Manager of Afridat Research and Innovation Natasha Shrestha and Project Consultant Dr Abdul Hai presented project concept, components, activities, learning materials, implementing organisations and also the project impact of the project Social Growth for Circular Fashion (SoGFash). The training was conducted by ICT teachers and experts with the support of Angelica Di Giacomo and Mariagrazia Molteni from Umbria Training Center (UTC).
It is notable that Skills Cloud project addresses digital skills and competences, overcoming skills mismatch and addressing the needs of the labour market and creating new, innovative or joint curricula or courses in the European partner countries and beyond. Objectives of Skills Cloud project include promoting the use of cloud computing curriculum as a new teaching opportunity and training offered within the vocational education and training (VET) sector, fostering the skills of VET learners in the digitalization era by means of providing them with knowledge and specific skills in the cloud computing sector and its applicability in the labor market, creating and matching synergies between the VET sector and the needs of the ICT sector to facilitate access to the job market.
