Discussion on 'Sheikh Hasina's Release from Prison Day' held

A discussion on 'Sheikh Hasina's Release from Prison Day' was held at North South University in Dhaka on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum and North South University jointly organised the programme at the university's auditorium in the morning.
Presided over by North South University's vice-chancellor Professor M Atiqul Islam, Prime minister's education and cultural adviser Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury addressed the programme as chief guest.
Jagannath University's former vice-chancellor and aslo Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum president Professor M Mizanur Rahman spoke here as chief discussant while Islamic University' former vice-chancellor and also the forum's vice-president Professor Dr Rashid Askari, Gopalgonj law-maker Nazma Akter and Bangabandhu researcher Afizur Rahman spoke as special guests.
Jagannath University Bangla department chairman and also Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum general-secretary Professor Milton Biswas delivered key-note speech in the programme.
Addressing the programme, the speakers said that the day is not only the release of Sheikh Hasina as a person, it also symbolizes the emancipation of democracy that was suspended for long by the introduction of the depoliticize army-backed unconstitutional one eleven government.
The chief discussant in his speech urged upon the younger generation to be familiar with the history of Bangladesh's independence and the history of Sheikh Hasina's struggle for reviving democracy and continuing the development of the country.
Over hundreds of teachers and students took part in the programme.
