The Forbidden Mysterious Mansion
- - Shabana Chowdhury Ahmed, Belgium
Annabelle lived with her parents in London. She studied journalism at the academy. After graduation she went to work for her father, who owned a newspaper company. She was in charge of the editing and publishing women's fashion and health columns. From time to time she wrote articles about unusual and mysterious places and events.
Weekdays she was busy at the newspaper company but in the weekends she spent her time with her aunt, who lived on the outskirts of London. Her aunt lived in a quaint cottage in the village. The quiet countryside was a heavenly blessing from the hustle and bustle of London. Annabelle would help her aunt in the garden to keep it neat and tidy. After work they would enjoy a cup of tea with cake while sitting in the garden. Her aunt told her interesting tales of the village. In the mornings annabelle would go on long walks and admire the beautiful scenery of the countyside. On one such occasion she came upon an old abandoned beautiful mansion. She returned home and asked her aunt about the mansion. Her aunt told her to stay away from the forbidden cursed mansion. The owners had mysteriously disappeared without a trace years ago. The villagers stayed away from the mansion saying that those who entered it were never seen again.
Annabelle could not sleep that night. In her mind's eyes she saw the ancient mansion standing with its ivy-clad walls concealing secrets as old as time. It's once grand halls echoed with the whispers of history and within it's labyrinthine passages a mystery waited to be unravelled. She found herself drawn to the mansion. Visions of hidden treasures and long forgotten tales lured her to the decaying relic of the past.
Armed with a flashlight, a notebook and an unyielding curiosity she embarked upon a clandestine exploration of the mansion guided only by the pale moonlight filtering through shattered windows. As she traversed the dimly lit corridors she stumbled upon a door. She pushed the creaking door ajar and went into a forgotten chamber, which was filled with relics of a bygone era. An ornate table in the centre of the room had antique books and faded letters. The room once shrouded in darkness now pulsated with a soft ethereal glow. She found a weathered diary that chronicled the lives of the mansion's former inhabitants. They had discovered the thin line between reality and the supernatural world. The mystery that had drawn Annabelle to the mansion had been unravelled. She now knew the secrets of a place caught between the realms of the living and the supernatural.
Annabelle walked towards the door to leave the mansion. She pushed the door to open it but it did not bulge. She was trapped between the realms of the living and the supernatural!
Her aunt never saw her again!
