Sarkar Farhana Akhter Sumi seeks AL’s ticket for polls

Pharmacist Sarkar Farhana Akhter Sumi, an organising secretary of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo Mahila League, is seeking the ticket from the ruling Awami League to contest the 12th Parliamentary Election from Nilphamari-1.

Sumi was seen electioneering at different parts of the Nilphamari-1 to contest the upcoming parliamentary election, which is scheduled to be held on January 7, 2024.

As a part of her campaign, Sumi shed light on the developments of the incumbent Awami League government among the general people.

She said that a lot of development was implemented in the country during the AL government. She sought vote for boat in the upcoming election so that the AL government could continue its development across the country.

The anti-liberation war forces always tried to halt the development projects of the AL government but they failed. She sought cooperation from the general people to work with them.

She would be fortunate enough if the Prime Minister, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League Sheikh Hasina, gave her a ticket to contest in the 12th Parliamentary Election.

‘I will sincerely serve the nation, if I get the ticket and get elected,’ she said.

Local people said that they wanted to see Sumi as a lawmaker of Nilphamari constituency 1. She did a lot for the Nilphamari’s people.

They urged the ruling party to give her the ticket to contest in the upcoming 12th Parliamentary Election. 

Pharmacist Sarkar Farhana Akhter Sumi had set a glaring example standing by thousands of lower class people during the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Thousands of flood affected people had also been helped by her during the needy situations.

Sumi was a Training and Library Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jubo Mahila League, former Deputy Literary Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, former Vice-President of Bangladesh Chhatra League Rajshahi University Unit and ex-president of Mannujan Hall unit Rajshahi University BCL.
