‘Rail Communication Inevitable for the Development’

Chapai Nawabgonj, March 13 (Nuhu Alam, Gomastapur Correspondent/ OurVoice): Without the development of railway system, full development of a country is not possible, said Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujon.

The railway minister said that full development of a country is not possible by relying only on roads. That is why the government put much emphasis on the development of railway communication. Railway Minister Sujon said this while visiting Rohanpur railway station in Chapai Nawabgonj on Friday.

The minister also said, both Bangladesh and India are interested in doing business through rail communication. So the government is working to reach every district by railway. Therefore, the government has emphasized on the development of infrastructure including overcoming the manpower crisis of the railway department.

In addition, various railway stations in the country are also being inspected to take the neglected railway sector forward. Earlier, the minister reached Rohanpur railway station on a special train from Rajshahi, while district Awami League leaders and workers greeted him with flowers.

Among others, local Member of Parliament Dr Shamil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, District Awami League General Secretary Abdul Wadood, Vice-President former MP Ziaur Rahman, Rohanpur Municipal Mayor Motiur Rahman Khan were present on the occasion.
