Prakash Chandra obtains PhD from Islamic University

Prakash Chandra Biswas, an assistant Professor of English department of Islamic University in Kushtia, obtained PhD degree under Arts’ faculty of the university.

IU approved the degree at its 255th syndicate meeting held on the campus with the university vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam in the chair, IU acting registrar HM Ali Hasan said on Wednesday.

Prakash was awarded the degree for his research entitled ‘D. H. Lawrence: In Quest of a Morbid Sex Mania.’

He completed his PhD degree under the supervision of IU English department Professor Dr M Mizanur Rahman.

D. H. Lawrence occupied the crucial part of English literature, whose writing explores different issues such as sexuality, emotional health, vitality, spontaneity, and instinct.

Victorianism, Modernism, Industrialization, Psychoanalysis, Sexuality, Oedipal Complex and Morbidity were the crucial parts of his research work.

Prakash Chandra Biswas was the former student of English department of Islamic University in Kushtia and he is now working as an assistant Professor of the same department of the university.
