Matiur Rahman Khan Won in Rahanpur Election

Chapai Nawabgonj, January 31 (Nuhu Alam, Gomastapur Correspondent/ OurVoice): Awami League’s rebel candidate Matiur Rahman Moti Khan was elected unofficially for the post of mayor in Rahanpur municipality of Chapai Nawabganj.

He was elected with 6,626 votes contesting with the spoon symbol. His closest rival the boat symbol candidate Golam Rabbani got 6,072 votes. Tariq Ahmed got 2,006 votes with the symbol of paddy sheaf.

Assistant Returning Officer and Upazila Election Officer Sirajul Islam announced the results unofficially on Saturday night.
