Kushtia, 30 September (Correspondent/OurVoice) – A new committee of Kushtia Press Club was elected with AL-Mamun Sagor of United News of Bangladesh as president and Abu Moni Jubed Ripon of Daily Jugantor as general secretary respectively.
The election was held at the press club office in Kushtia on Saturday. The result of the election was published at around 8:30 pm.
Other members of the committee are Mojibul Sheikh of Daily Kushtiyar Darpan as senior vice-president, Nurunnabi Babu of Somoyer Kagoj as vice-president, Abdur Razzak Bachchu of My TV as senior joint-secretary, Debashish Dutta of Pratidiner Bangladesh as joint-secretary, M Liton-Uz-Zaman of Bangla TV as treasurer, Mokaddes Hossain Selim of Daily Sutrapat as office secretary, Towhid Hasan of Prothom Alo as publicity, publication and cultural affairs secretary and Nizam Uddin of Daily Dinersheshe as sports and social welfare secretary.
Anisuzzaman Dabulu of Daily Andoloner Bazar, AFM Nurul Quader of Daily Naya Diganta, Shirajul Islam of Daily Observer, Abdur Rashid Chowdhury of Daily Bangladesh Barta, S M Rashed of Somoy TV, Delwar Manik of Manabzamin, Abdul Jihad of daily Matir Prithibi, Khalid Hasan Shipai of Kushtiyar Diganta and Mohammad Ali Zoardar of Daily Sagarkhali were elected members.
A total of 95 members cast their vote to elect the executive body for the next two years.
The Islamic University Journalists Association congratulated the newly-elected body of the Kushtia Press Club.
