IU Master’s Student Dies of COVID-19

Kushtia, July 10 (Correspondent/OurVoice): A master’s student of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies Department of Islamic University in Kushtia died at a hospital in the capital on Friday night after infecting with Covid-19.
The deceased was identified as Shibbir Ahmed, 24, son of late Solaiman Hossain, an MA student of Al-Quran department under 2019-20 academic session of the university.
Shibbir breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital around 10:00 pm, the department’s Professor M Zakir Hossain said.
Shibbir had been suffering from fever, cold, difficulty in breathing and other Covid symptoms for 15 days.
He tested positive and admitted to Ullapara Upazila Health Complex for treatment. Later, he was taken to DMCH as his health condition deteriorated.
He was buried to his family graveyard in Sirajganj, he added.
Islamic University authorities, Al-Quran and Islamic Studies Department, teachers and officials expressed profound shock at the early demise of Shibbir and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
