IU English Dept Teacher Dies of Heart Attack

Kushtia, September 13 (Correspondent/OurVoice): Khondokar Abdulla Hil Al Mabud alias Jewel, an Assistant Professor of English Department of Islamic University in Kushtia, died of cardiac arrest at Kushtia General Hospital on Monday afternoon.
He breathed his last, while taking him to BRB helipad for leaving for Dhaka, IU English Department Professor M Mamunur Rahman said.
He was 40. He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives. He would be buried at his family graveyard in Kushtia.
A week ago, he was admitted to the hospital as he was suffering from shortness of breath. Later, doctor found two cardiac arrests in him, Mamun said.
IU English Department Professor and former Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, its Chairperson Professor Mossammad Salma Sultana, IU authorities, IU Teachers’ Association, IU Journalists’ Association and different teacher and student associations expressed profound shock at the early demise of Jewel.
In a condolence message, IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam said that Jewel was a sincere and devoted teacher of the university. His death bears an irreparable loss for the department of English and for the university.
He prayed for the eternal peace of Jewel and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
