Islamic University Holds Exam Physically

Kushtia, September 13 (Correspondent/OurVoice): The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia are taking bachelor and masters’ final examinations physically keeping all the residential dormitories closed on Monday.
A total of five departments under different faculties took their examinations maintaining health guidelines, a press release, signed by IU Information, Publication and Public Relations Office Deputy Registrar Shahed Ahmed, was issued in this regard.
The departments took the examinations following the direction of the university administration.
IU Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam visited the examination centers in the morning. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman, Treasurer Professor M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya, Transport Administrator Professor M Anowar Hossain, Acting Controller of Examination Abul Kalam Azad Lavlu accompanied him.
According to the university authorities, the departments could take bachelor and masters final examinations, retake exams, practical or viva-voce physically or virtually.
Students suffered lot due to the closure of residential dormitories during the exams. More than five students reside in a single room in the mess.
Many students from different parts of the country returned to the campus to take part in exams. But they failed to manage seat in the mess. They, as a result, were staying in the same room, a student of public administration department said.
They urged the government to reopen the halls for the students appeared in the exams.
The university administration has unanimously approved to take examinations online at its academic council meeting held on August 17.
Few days after the decision, the university authorities decided to take the examinations physically.
