Human chain at IU protests religious attack in Narail

Kushtia, July 20 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice): The teachers, students and officials of Hindu community of Islamic University staged a demonstration on the campus in Kushtia on Wednesday demanding the arrest of those responsible for the sectarian attack at Lohagora in Narail and bringing them to book.
Around one hundred teachers, students and officials gathered in front of the university’s Mrittunjoyee Mujib Mural and formed a human chain there around 11:00 am to press home their demand.
IU Puja Utjapon committee president Professor Paresh Chandra Barman chaired the human chain.
While addressing the human chain, the speakers said that the local administration of Narail had failed to ensure the security and safety of the Hindu community.
They demanded immediate arrest of those responsible for the attack and their exemplary punishment.
Among others, IU Sheikh Russel Hall provost Professor Debashish Sharma and Professor Dhanonjoy Kumar spoke in the protest programme.
