Bangladesh Hailed at IPM in European Parliament

Bilateral talks between the Bangladesh Parliamentary Group and the Inter Parliamentary Meeting (IPM) was held on Monday at the European Parliament in Brussels.
The discussion was conducted by the member of the European Parliament Usra Maldakeni. The Bangladesh parliamentary delegation was led by Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and Head of Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs Colonel (retd.) Muhammad Farooq Khan MP. Members of Parliament Abdus Salam Morshedi, Aparajita Haque, Rana Mohammad Sohail, MD Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and Deputy Director of Parliament Shaukat Akbar were also there.
In the discussion, most of the negotiators appreciated the development of Bangladesh and maintaining good relations with the world and establishing democracy. Moreover, European Parliament members opined that Bangladesh can be emulated in dealing with the covid 19 crisis and energy crisis in European countries.
The negotiators described Bangladesh as a good friend of the European Union and said that they will continue all kinds of cooperation. They offered special thanks for providing shelter to the Rohingya refugees. However, the head of the human rights organization along with some negotiators emphasized on the prevailing child labor, forced labor, trade unions, capital punishment, extrajudicial killings, disappearances, torture of prisoners in prisons, even murder, ensuring voting rights for all, practicing democracy and ensuring human rights for all.
Responding to these points Colonel Farooq Khan MP said, Bangladesh is running fully democratically under the leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. If we get the support of the European Union, we will establish equal rights of people with the world in the coming days. He expressed his gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister and the people of the European Union. The Ambassador of Bangladesh in Belgium Saleh Mahbub, presented Bangladesh positively.
Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and Abdus Salam Morshedi challenged and said that there is no child labor and forced labor in Bangladesh. All-European Awami League Coordinator and Belgium Awami League President Bazlur Rashid Bulu, German Awami League President Mizanur Haque Khan, General Secretary Mubarak Ali Bhuiyan Bakul, Joint General Secretary Noore Alam Siddiqui Rubel, Hasnat Mia, Honorary Consul of Bangladesh in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany and President of German Bangla Press Club Khan Liton attended the meeting.
