Asad-Antu lead the Nature and Conserv. Club of JnU

Dhaka, April 19 (JnU Correspondent/OurVoice): The new executive committee of Nature Study and Conservation Club (NSCC), an organization of the Department of Zoology at Jagannath University (JnU), has been announced.

Asad Ullah of the department’s 2014-15 session has been appointed as the President of the committee and Durjoy Raha Antu of the 2015-16 session has been appointed as the General Secretary.

The new committee was announced at the end of the club’s annual general meeting held online on Friday. The club’s advisor Dilip Kumar Das announced the new committee of 25 members for the year 2021-22.

Other members of the committee are Vice President Shimul Nath and Ahsan Russell, Joint General Secretary Sajib Biswas, Organizing Secretary Parisha Akhter, Deputy Organizing Secretary Md. Sabbir Islam Sunny, Treasurer Habiba Jannat Kanmani, Education and Research Secretary Apurba Manik Dey, Office Secretary Md. Tanjilur Rahman. Khan, IT Secretary Md. Samrat Akbar, Publications Secretary Faria Jahan, Cultural Secretary Farzana Sultana.

Other present members are Md. Iftekharul Pony, Kamlesh Roy, Md. Shariful Islam, Md. Ashiq, Mahfuzur Rahman, Md. Al-Amin, Md. Rashedul Islam, Dipta Saha, Khadija Tul Kobra, Keya Das, Md. Hamidur Rahman Naeem, Md. Hafizur Rahman Khan. Worth mentioning is that since its inception in 2010, the club has been organizing various awareness programs, discussion meetings, seminars, workshops, research and various competitions on nature in order to maintain the connection between life and nature. During the long journey of the club, days like World Migratory Bird Day, Frog Day, World Otter Day, World Fisheries Day are being celebrated through various activities including exhibitions, animal identification, zoo debates, etc. Club members also participated and won awards for the department and the university.
