Seminar on ‘Mourning Day’ Held at Dhaka University

Dhaka, August 13 (Special Correspondent/OurVoice): A seminar on ‘Uprooting conspiracy: The pledge of the August tragedy’ was held at Dhaka University in the capital on Sunday.
Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum organised the seminar at Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of Dhaka University’s Social Science Bhaban in the morning.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni MP addressed the seminar as the chief guest while Islamic University’s former vice-chancellor and Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum’s vice-president Professor Dr Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, DU Social Science Faculty dean Professor Dr Zia Rahman, political analyst major Nasiruddin Ahammed, Bangladesh University of Professionals’s Liberation War Centre director Professor M Jahangir Alam, Dainik Bangla and Newsbangla24 media director Afizur Rahman and Bangladesh Chhatra League president Saddam Hussain spoke as special guests.
Presided over by Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum president and Jagannath University’s former vice-chancellor Professor Mizanur Rahman and National University vice-chancellor Professor M Mashiur Rahman presented the keynote speech in the seminar.
Bangladesh Progressive Columnist Forum general secretary and Jagannath University’s Bangla department chairman Professor Milton Biswas conducted the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, Dr Dipu Moni said, “The persecution the minority families that underwent during the BNP-Jamaat coalition government is unspeakable. We have to make sure that those regimes do not return.
“Dr. Rashid Askari said, “The conspiracies hatched by today’s anti-liberation elements and their hired hands are nothing but the latest version of the erstwhile conspiracies hatched by Mostaq-Zia-Farook-Rashid-Dalim gang.”
Hundreds of teachers, students and political personalities took part in the seminar.
