Seminar on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh Held in Dhaka

Kushtia, March 17 (Correspondent/OurVoice): A seminar on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh was held in Bangla Academy in Dhaka on Wednesday. 

Bangla Academy organized the seminar on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s hundredth and one birth anniversary at Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium in Dhaka.

Presided over by Bangla Academy President and Islamic University Bangabandhu Chair Professor M Shamsuzzaman Khan, IU former VC Professor Dr Rashid Askari delivered the keynote speech on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh.

Bangla Academy Director General Habibullah Siraji delivered welcome speech, while Professor Dr Abu M Delwar Hossain and fictionist Anisul Haque spoke as the discussants. 

Addressing the programme, Dr Rashid Askari discussed various aspects of Bangabandhu’s political life starting from the language movement of 1952 down to Liberation War 1971. He said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was not only the paramount leader of 75 million people of that time. He is now hailed as a leader of international stature. Bangabandhu will keep inspiring the freedom loving millions of the world.
