Riverine People Club starts journey in Jagannath University

Dhaka, 12 October (Special Correspondent/OurVoice) – A 15-member convening body of Jagannath University Riverine People Club was formed with Bangla department’s 14th batch student Syed Shihab Hossain as convener and the same department’s 15th batch student M Tarikul Islam as member secretary.

The club started its journey for the first time ever at the university, sources a press release which was issued in this regard on Thursday. 

Other members of the committee are Mahmudul Haque Sami, Harun-Or-Rashid Nayon, Imam Hasan, Bayzid Hasan, Abdullah Al Imran, Abrar Jahan Rafi, Asadul Islam Nayeem, Fahim Faisal, Bhabani Paul, Bachir Mia, Al Mamun, Raihan Islam and Yasin Arafat.

The director of Riverine People Club and also Begum Rokeya University’s Bangla department Professor Abu Sala Mohammad Wadudur Rahman, popularly know as Tuhin Wadud, approved the body after a meeting on the formation of JnU Riverine People Club was held at the seminar room of JnU’s Bangla department on Tuesday.

Tuhin Wadud said that river was the part of our life. Without river, our life was incomplete and we had to know and love about river. It is our moral duty to protect river, he added.

Among others, Jagannath University Bangla department chairman Professor Milton Biswas and Associate Professor Rajib Mandal were present on the occasion. 

Different teacher, student and officer associations congratulated the newly formed committee of JnU Riverine People Club.
