The authorities of Islamic University (IU) distributed relief materials on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday with a view to giving assistance among the workless people, who have been suffering due to crisis created over the corona virus pandemic.
IU General Employee Association organised the distribution programme in front of the university’s administration building in the morning.
IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.
A total of four hundred poor people received the relief materials from the programme.
Addressing the programme, IU VC said that Islamic University teachers, students, officers and employees all have stood by the poor and hapless victims of corona virus pandemic in their hour of need. ‘We have also donated Tk. 15 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Relief and welfare fund. The Islamic University is committed to supporting the underprivileged sections of this community until the calamitous situation is over’, he added.
