Mymensingh, February 9 (BAU Correspondent/OurVoice): An annual prize giving ceremony of Darul Quran Muslim Academy (DQMA) was held at their academic ground at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) campus on Saturday.
President of the academy Engineer Md. Abdul Halim Sardar presided over the program while Pro Vice Chancellor of BAU Prof Dr. Md. Jashimuddin Khan was present as chief guest. Students’ Affairs Adviser Dr. Md. Solaiman Ali Fakir was the special guest in the program. Besides, teachers and students of various classes of the academy were also present along with the guardians.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of Darul Quran Muslim Academy Dr. Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman said, ‘The Darul Quran Muslim Academy is the institution of Bengali education besides religious teaching. With the basic education of religion, our academic activities are conducted in according to the syllabus of Bengali education made by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board of Bangladesh. There are a total of 12 teachers in the primary and 3 teachers in ‘Hifz’ Department.’
Pro-VC Prof Dr. Jasimuddin Khan said, ‘Darul Quran Muslim Academy is a good quality educational institution for achieving Bengali and religious education. If we want to make this in a better institution, we must work to improve it. Along with the syllabus of Bengali education, this academy will play a vital role in establishing the foundation of religious education for Muslims in order to sparkle like infants.’
After discussion session, Pro VC handed over the prizes to three students who got GPA 5.00 in PEC examination last year. The winners of different cultural events and top three meritorious students from each class were also awarded.
