Joypurhat, February 10 (OurVoice): The prize giving ceremony of annual sports competition and award giving to GPA 5 scorers in national examinations was held in Shishu Niketan and Sadar Junior High School in Khetlal, Joypurhat on Saturday.
Presided over by the Headmaster of the School Azizar Rahaman, the ceremony was graced by Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Khetlal Jabun naher as chief guest. Among others, Bangladeshi-German journalist and development activist AHM Abdul Hai, founder of several educational institutions Golam Mohiuddin, Upazila Agriculture Officer of Khetlal Alamgir Kabir, Scout Coordinator in Joypurhat Md Nuruzzaman, Headmaster of Junior Secondary Girls School Shamsul Hoque and Founder of Itakhola BM College G M Kibria attended the occasion. Secretary of Khetlal Press Club Azizul Hoque moderated the ceremony.
In her speech UNO Naher emphasized on the integrated effort of teachers and parents for the quality education and better performance of the students of this school. She added, Information is power, but without proper knowledge information cannot ensure effective outcome. So we should make a good environment for proper combination of information and knowledge in the educational system.
Stressing the deep love for mother tongue and significance of the language movement Journalist Hai said, parents and teachers must use the Bangla language in every form and purpose very correctly and teach their children to do so for the better practice of our mother tongue. Only then we can pay due tribute to the language martyrs and their great sacrifice will be justified.
Before handing over the prizes among the winners, a video presentation was screened, where about 6 years old Hossain Jawad Najib, a student of class one of the school, introduced different members of Dinosaur family with various characteristics of the species in English language. The deep knowledge and interest for the Dinosaur and other sea animals of Najib and his nice presentation astonished the guests, teachers and students present in the ceremony.
