Paddy Seedlings Distributed among the Flood Victims

Mymensingh, August 28 (BAU Correspondent/OurVoice): Aman paddy saplings were distributed among flood affected people in Bhavakhali, Kashar Char, Kalibazar, Char Jhaupara and Jagir Alagi Char areas of Mymensingh district.

Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) Prof Dr Lutful Hassan distributed rice seedlings to 100 families at farm management branch of the university on Wednesday.

Among others, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Jasimuddin Khan, Student Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Md. Solaiman Ali Fakir, President of BAU Teachers Association Dr. Md. Abu Hadi Nur Ali Khan, General Secretary of the Democratic Teachers Forum Dr. Muhammad Mahir Uddin, retired Professor of Poultry Science S M Bulbul, Director of Bangladesh Agricultural University Extension Center Dr. Md. Golam Farouque, Member Secretary of the Relief Program Prof. A. K M Zakir Hossain, Proctor Prof. Dr. Md. Azharul Hoque and university teachers, employees and leaders of various student organizations graced the occasion.

The Vice-Chancellor said, farmers have the most problems with the availability of paddy fodder after the floods went down. For this reason, immediately starting the flood, I started the production of 500 kilogram seedlings of paddy. As a result, we can supply seedlings of Binadan-1 and Bri-Dhani 4 as per the requirement.
