JnU Placed First Time in Scimago Ranking
Dhaka, April 23 (JnU Correspondent/OurVoice): For the first time Jagannath University (JnU) has taken a place in research, innovation and social position among the public and private research institutes and universities of Bangladesh by international standards.
Jagannath University authorities confirmed the news on Friday in a 2021 ranking report published on the website of the world-renowned Scimago Institutions.
Jagannath University has been included in the 2021 edition of the Scimago Institutions Rankings of Spain with 4,126 universities from different countries of the world. The Scimago Institution in Spain considers all organizations that have published at least 100 studies in the Scopus database as a condition.
According to the report, 30 public and private research institutes and universities in Bangladesh are enlisted there. Among them, Jagannath University is ranked 18th and also ranked 12th among public universities. The university was ranked 446th in Asia and 824th internationally.
About the success of the university acting VC Prof. D. Kamal Uddin Ahmed said, ”After 15 years of founding of Jagannath University, this big achievement came. Teachers play an important role to achieve this. Many teachers have good success at the national and international levels. I hope Jagannath University will go a long way in future.” Noted that 6,553 educational and research institutions of the world have got a place in this list of 2021. This year The International Diarrhea Research Center ‘Bangladesh ICDDRB’ is in the first position in Bangladesh.
