Kushtia, November 18 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice): The members of Islamic University Journalists’ Association on Tuesday demanded immediate release of Rajshahi University Press Club former President Manik Raihan Bappy, who was arrested in a case filed under Information and Communication Technology Act.

IUJA made the demand in a press release signed by its President Humayun Kabir Jibon and General Secretary Irfan Mahmud Rana.

‘We’re shocked at the arrest of the journalist and it poses threat to journalism on the university campuses as well as independent journalism.’

They demanded immediate withdrawal of the case filed against Bappy and his unconditional release, the press release said.
