IU teacher Liton Baron obtains PhD degree

Liton Baron Sikder, assistant Professor of English department of Islamic University in Kushtia, obtained PhD degree under Arts’ faculty of the university recently.
IU approved the degree at its 255th syndicate meeting held on the campus in Kushtia with the university vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam in the chair, sources an IU academic office officials said on Wednesday.
The university awarded the degree to him for his research entitled ‘Changing Trends of the Bauls: A Study in the Context of Kushtia District’.
He completed his PhD degree under the supervision of IU’s former pro-vice-chancellor, also a senior Professor of IU English department, Professor M Shahinoor Rahman.
Kalyani University’s Bangla department Professor Dr Sanjit Mondal reviewed the PhD dissertation and Rajshahi University’s English department Professor Dr M Shahidullah chaired the examination committee.
His research focused on the Methodological and Stylistic approaches of the present study and focused on the aspects of changing trends of the Bauls.
The findings are supposed to be supportive to the incumbent working on developing survival policies for the evanescent Bauls.
