IU Observes 50th Independence Day

The authorities of Islamic University observed the 50th Independence Day on the campus in Kushtia on Thursday, paying tribute to the valiant sons of the land who have sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
Marking the day, IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari hoisted the national flag at half-mast position while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman hoisted a black flag in front of the university’s administrative building in Kushtia.
IU authorities placed floral wreath at the university’s memorial monument.
IU Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha, Independence Day celebration committee Convenor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman and Proctor Professor Paresh Chandra Barman were present on the occasion.
Later, the university authorities distributed masks, hand sanitisers and hand gloves among the people living adjacent to university area to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
