Kushtia, November 20 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice): The authorities of Islamic University will celebrate its 42nd founding anniversary on the campus in Kushtia on Sunday in a befitting manner.

The university authorities had chalked out elaborated programmes including flag hoisting, releasing pigeons and balloons, tree plantation, cake-cutting and discussion online to mark the day.

This year the university authorities curtailed the programme due to COVID-19 outbreak, Rajibul Islam Kanok, Deputy Director of IU Information, Publication and Public Relations Office, said on Friday.

Later, IU VC will release pigeons and balloons in the sky and a total of 42 trees will be planted on the campus.

A discussion programme will also be held online in the evening, where University Grants’ Commission Chairman Professor Kazi Shahidullah would be present as chief guest.

National flag and the university flag will be hoisted atop the administrative building and all dormitories in the morning.

The university started its journey on November 22 in 1979 at Gazipur on a campus presently used by the National University.
