Islamic University accounting dept reunion held

Kushtia, September 17 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice): The former and incumbent students of Islamic University’s accounting and information system department observed its first alumni reunion on the campus in Kushtia on Saturday.
Two-day long programme marking the reunion included a pastry festival, a colourful rally, discussion, cultural function, raffle draw and prize giving ceremony.
IU vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam inaugurated the second day event by releasing balloons and cutting a cake in front of the university’s Bir Shrestha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium in the morning.
Later, the present and ex-students of the department brought out a colourful procession from in front of the university’s business administration building.
The procession ended in front of the auditorium after parading main roads of the campus.
After that a discussion programme was held there. IU vice-chancellor addressed the programme as chief guest while pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Mahbubur Rahman and dean of IU business administration faculty spoke as special guests with IU Accounting Alumni Association’s convener Shahjahan Alam Shaju was in the chair.
Later, a cultural function, raffle draw and prize giving ceremony were held in the auditorium.
Earlier, a pastry festival was held on the campus in Kushtia marking the reunion on Friday afternoon.
