Int’l Virtual Conference on Gender Studies Held

Kushtia, September 19 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice): A 3-day long international virtual conference on Gender Studies was held this weekend.

Cape Comorin Trust and Lavender Literary Club, India in collaboration with Al Maarif University College, Iraq; Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangladesh Department of Folklore; University of Creative Technology, Bangladesh, Department of English Language and Literature; and Khurasan University, Afghanistan, Faculty of Social Science and Department of English Language and Literature; Great Imam College, Iraq, Department of Religion Basics in association with Cap Comorin Publishers, India organized the virtual conference.

Professor Dr Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari of English Department from the Islamic University in Kushtia attended the plenary session on the third day and presented a paper on ‘Psychological Abuse against Women and Judicial Relief’.

Dr Askari said, ‘It was a very interactive session and I found it quite enthralling. A wide variety of subjects on Gender Studies presented by an impressive line-up of speakers has made the conference extremely revealing. Thanks are due to the organizers for having given me a chance to share my views on women at such a global platform’.

About hundreds of scholars from different universities and colleges of India, Bangladesh, Iraq and Afghanistan participated at the conference.
