A seminar on JSPS Fellowship Program was held at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). The seminar took place at Syed Nazrul Islam Conference Hall of the university on Sunday.
This Program was jointly organized by Japan Society for Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) Regional Office from Thailand and Bangladesh JSPS Alumni Association (BJSPSAA).
Vice Chancellor of BAU and President of BJSPSAA Prof Dr. Lutful Hassan was present at the event as Chief Guest. Pro Vice Chancellor of BAU Prof Dr. Jasimuddin Khan, Convener of the Seminar Organizing Committee Prof Dr. M A M Yahia Khandoker, Vice President and General Secretary of BJSPSAA respectively Dr. A K M Nowsad Alam and Prof Dr. Tuhin Suvra Roy were also present as special guest.
Research and Publication Secretary of BJSPSAA Prof Dr. Mirza Hasanuzzaman presented the keynote paper on the occasion. He said, “JSPS is a core funding agency of research. It has been funding for research purpose since 1932. Now there are 20 JSPS alumni associations all over the world including Bangladesh.”
BAU VC said, “Without research, there is no alternative to develop knowledge. Quality research should be increased for the overall development of the country. University teachers are calling for more projects to be published and publication. You mustn’t be discouraged for the fellowship and keep trying again and again.”
