Kushtia, July 4 (IU Correspondent/OurVoice): Islamic University’s English Department Professor M M Rahman on Friday night filed a general diary with Jhenaidah police station over leaked audio clip containing conversation between him and a female student on social media Facebook.

Jhenaidah police station Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter saying he received a GD signed by Professor Rahman in this regard.

According to the statement, some unidentified persons spread ‘indecent conversation’ on social media editing Rahman’s voice to defile his academic and professional status.

Professor Rahman said, ‘It is not my voice that was leaked on social media. ‘I have no involvement with this audio. As part of a vile attempt to tarnish my professional and social status, a vested quarter has made the heinous act of editing my voice,’ he added.

On June 30, an audio scandal containing conversation allegedly between Prof Rahman and a female student went viral on social media where he invited the student coming to his home to commit an illicit act there.

Taking the issue in cognizance, the university authorities formed a three-member probe body to investigate into the incident suspending Prof Rahman from the post of Director of Teacher, Student Cultural Center of the university.
