Mymensingh, September 07 (BAU Correspondent/OurVoice): A certificate giving ceremony of ‘Community Project-2019’ was held at Bangladesh Agriculture University (BAU).
The ceremony was organized at a joint venture of the University of Twenty of Netherlands and BAU in the conference room of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Food Security (IIFS) of the university on Saturday.
Five groups of teachers and students from various faculty of the university took part in the Community Project. The teams worked for the development of the children, who work in dining halls, the pupils of the night schools, the hotel staffs and the unemployed youths of the university.
Professor of Pharmacology Department of BAU Dr. Md. Mahmudul Hasan Sikdar presided over the ceremony while the Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Dr. Lutful Hassan was present as the chief guest. Professor of the University of Twenty of Netherlands Vin Morar and Associate Students’ Affairs Adviser Prof Dr. Md. Azharul Islam were also present as special guest. During this time, Vice Chancellor handed over the certificates to the five team members working on the project.
Vice Chancellor said, for the sustainable development of the country, conducting modern work-based curriculum with academic courses is very important in workplace development in every public and private universities. Skilled graduates should be developed in coordination with various field level industries with higher education from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education of the country. By coordinating with people of every level of society and solving the various problems everyone can contribute directly to the development of the country. I am very hopeful that such work has already started at our university, he added.
