Dortmund, July 12 (OurVoice): In order to create awareness among the consumers about the use of jute products instead of plastic and also to promote jute products in the German market, a day-long workshop organized by the Europe-based diaspora organisation, BASUG will be held in Dortmund City Corporation Building on Saturday, the 14th July. The workshop is a part of the on-going project of BASUG on ‘Jute instead of Plastic’ in Germany.
The Nepalese General Consul in Cologne Ram Thapa and Commercial Counselor in Bangladesh Embassy in Berlin Dr Syed Masum Ahmed Chowdhury are expected to inaugurate the workshop. Renowned Bangladeshi-Dutch Jazz Singer Rehana Begum is expected to grace the occasion as Guest of Honour while BASUG Chairman Bikash Chowdhury Barua will preside over the opening session.
The workshop is to be organized under the project “Jute instead of plastic” with the support from Foundation Environment and Development SUE NRW. German-based online media outlet, Our Voice is the media partner of the event. The research report on the trend and orientation of the people living in NRW about jute and plastic will be presented by Urban and Regional Planner and former Scientific Officer of the Applied University of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Md Khurshid Hassan.
The panel discussion is supposed to be attended by Dr Syed Masum Ahmed Chowdhury, Commercial Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy in Germany, Laura Hebling, Consultant, Education for Sustainable Development, Vamos e.V. Münster, Dr. M. A. K. Azad, Co-founder, AltEco-Manager (Research and Development) of Scubet Deutschland, M K Ibrahim, Director, Overseas of Jutetex Bangladesh, Executive Director of House of Integration Juboraj Talukder and Vice President of House of Integration Nurul Islam.
Seraji Foundation, EDDA Africa, For the Kids Sake and Vamos teams have given consent to exhibit their jute products and no-plastic posters in the sideline of the event.
