An awareness programme on coronavirus was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Monday with a view to preventing the spread of coronavirus.
IU international students affairs cell organised the programme at the conference room of the university’s administration building.
IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the programme as the chief guest with International Students Affairs Cell Director Professor M Shahadat Hossain Azad in the chair.
IU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha, Proctor Professor Paresh Chandra Barman, IIER Director Professor M Maher Ali spoke as the special guests.
Around 50 foreign students of different departments took part in the awareness programme.
Addressing the programme, the speakers suggested the students not to take panic regarding the virus and asked them to live in their respective rooms.
Among others, IU Chief Medical Officer M Nazrul Islam, International Students Affairs Cell Member Assistant Professor Nasir Al-Azhary, Humayun Kabir, Rabiul Islam were present on the occasion.
