An art competition was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Sunday amid festive mood and much enthusiasm.
Islamic University authorities organised the event at the Laboratory School and College of the university on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary and National Children’s Day.
IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the competition as chief guest with the competition convener Professor M Mamunur Rahman in the chair.
IU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha, Syndicate Member Professor M Mahbubar Rahman spoke as the special guests.
IU Officers’ Association President Alamgir Hossain Khan conducted the programme while Bangabandhu Parisad President Professor Ruhul KM Saleh, Hall Provost Council President Professor Tapan Kumar Joadder, IU Acting Additional Registrar M Nawab Ali were present on the occasion.
Around two hundred students of the school took part in the competition. Addressing the programme, IU VC said that they will not only draw Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the pages of a paper, they would also draw him in the mind.
‘We will cherish Bangabandhu from generation to generation. You are the winner of all those who participated in today’s competition’, he added.
