Anti-Drug Bicycle Rally Held in Mymensingh

Additional DIG of Mymensingh Range of Police Akkusuddin Bhuiyan called for cooperation with information about drug traders.

He added, those who cooperate with information about drug dealers will remain anonymous. Even those who cooperate with the information will be rewarded. He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the anti-drug bicycle rally organized by the ‘Dhaka Round Table’ on Friday. More than 400 cyclists from Mymensingh section participated in this rally organized in collaboration with Duranta Bicycle to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drugs to the young boys of our county.

Superintendent of Police of Mymensingh district Shah Abid Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Humayun Ahmed, chief coordinator of Anti-narcotics bicycle show Azaz Mahmud, Founder Secretary of ‘Dhaka Round Table’ Rabiul Islam and member Fahzin Islam and other members of BAU cyclist event were also present at the opening ceremony.

The anti-drug procession began at the Circuit House premises of the city and ended at the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) campus through various roads in Mymensingh city. Later, the convener of the dean council of BAU Prof Dr Gias Uddin Ahmed, Curator of Botanical Garden Prof Dr Md Zakir Hossain, assistant proctor Md. Shahidul Alam, president of the BAU Cyclists and Women Cyclist Club respectively Md. Saidur Rahman, Dr Nasrin Sultana spoke on the programme.
