Four students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) have gone missing in Saudi Arabia during performing the holy Umrah.

A general diary has been lodged at Kotwali police station in Mymensingh. All teachers and students of the university along with the families of those students are worried.

The missing students are Al-Amin, Fahim Hassan Khan and Sheikh Mizanur Rahman of Faculty of Agriculture, and Abdul Momen of Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology. All four were staying in the Hossain Shaheed Sohrawardy Hall of the university and associated with the Tabligi Jamaat.

It is to be noted that on January 25 Fahim and Momen traveled to Saudi Arabia with BSS Travels and Mizanur and Al Amin with Sadman Travels Agency to perform the Umrah. Their visa expired in February, but they have not been found yet.

Proctor of the university Professor Dr. Md. Azharul Hoque said, ‘Police are investigating the matter. We are assisting the police in this regard.’

In this regard, OC of Detective Branch of Mymensingh district Shah Kamal Akand said, ‘We are investigating whether they have been in Saudi Arabia in search of work or anything else.’
