16 IU students selected for science, tech fellowship

Kushtia, January 03 (Correspondent/OurVoice): A total of 16 students of different departments of Islamic University in Kushtia have been selected for science and technology fellowship 2021-23 for research under the science and technology ministry, IU registrar office sources said on Sunday.

IU acting registrar M Ataur Rahman said that he received a press release from the ministry of science and technology in this regard.

The students who have been selected for the fellowship in the physics category are Tahmina Khandokar Mitu and Mubasira Mukta from applied chemistry and chemical engineering department, Shahidul Islam from biotechnology and genetic engineering department and Ramprasad Debnath from electrical and electronic engineering department of the university.

The students who have been selected for the fellowship in the biology and medical sciences category are Al-Amin Milon, Shabbir Ahmed, Mehrab Hossain Fahim, Jahurul Haque, Masudur Rahman, Nazmul Huda and Humaira Afia from biotechnology and genetic engineering department and Tania Akter, Tamanna Khatun, Rikta Khatun from applied nutrition and food technology department and Tania Afroz Toma from information and communication engineering department of the university.

Nasir Uddin Khan from electrical and electronic engineering department was also selected for the fellowship in the renewal category.

IU vice-chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam said that the students who had been selected for the fellowship would light up the name of Islamic University after completing their research.

He also congratulated the students selected for the fellowship.
